GIG HARBOR - IMAGES OF AMERICA SERIES

New Book Now Available by Local Author

Gig Harbor has hit the big time with the production of a new historical photo book as part of the Images of America series.

You will no doubt recognize the style of this series of books, produced around the country by Arcadia Publishing of South Carolina. Local author Donald R. Tjossem was recruited to do the book, which was released last month.

The book boasts more than 200 vintage images and memories of Gig Harbor's past. Locals will recognize many characters including several still active in the community today.

Following the Native Americans and early settlers, the fishing and agriculture and logging industries, the three bridges and many more iconic images are presented in this fun read. It will make a perfect coffee table book and conversation piece, a great gift and a fantastic souvenir for visitors.

Gig Harbor, $21.99, Arcadia Publishing. Available at local retailers, on line bookstores, or through Arcadia Publishing at www.arcadiapublishing.com or (888) 313-2665.

Gig Harbor has hit the big time with the release of the book Gig Harbor - Images of America. You will no doubt recognize this style of historical pictorial books produced about communities around the country by South Carolina publisher Arcadia Publishing Company.

Local Author Donald R. Tjossem was recruited to create the book, which is the newest addition to the Arcadia Publishing series. The book boasts more than 200 vintage images and memories of Gig Harbor's past.

I really enjoyed looking at all the images myself. This book will make a great conversation piece, coffee table book or gift. It will also be perfect for visitors to take home as a souvenir.
