Flag Lowered In Honor Of George Bujacich

The flag at Jerisich Park will be lowered this Sunday in remembrance of longtime resident, George "BU" Bujacich, who was born in Gig Harbor on April 29, 1925. 

George followed in his father's footsteps and became a successful second generation commercial fisherman until he retired and sold his boat, the Mustang.  He was a founding member of the Gig Harbor Sportsmans Club and even helped turn the logs at the Austin Mill that were used to build the clubhouse.  George was also instrumental in starting the Donkey Creek Volunteer Fish Hatchery that still is in operation today.
