Council Has Not Voted To Raise Property Taxes.
The city gets emails from time to time from citizens commenting about rumors they hear in the community. The latest batch of emails is asking the city why it raised property taxes. City staff often is left perplexed as to how such rumors begin. In any case, to put a stop to this week’s rumor...the City Council DID NOT raise property taxes. The Council HAS NOT made any plans to raise property taxes. As with any such rumor, the public is encouraged to contact City Councilmembers or city staff to verify the validity of what they hear or read.
Here is a link to Resolution No. 977 in which Council adopted a 0.0% property tax levy for 2015.
